community events, and fundraising efforts.
Serving 12 Counties in Northeast Iowa. Working to serve the state!
The Community AIDS Assistance Project (CAAP) was founded in 1992, during the height of the AIDS epidemic, by a group of individuals who were losing far too many friends and loved ones. At a time when stigma was widespread and support was limited, they recognized a critical need and stepped forward to help when others turned away.
Over the years, CAAP has evolved alongside advances in treatment and care. While HIV/AIDS is no longer the fatal diagnosis it once was, the need for support remains significant. Access to services has improved, yet many individuals still face financial hardship, stigma, and barriers to care.
As HIV rates continue to rise in Iowa, CAAP remains committed to supporting those affected while working to educate our community and reduce the spread of the disease. With the help of our donors, volunteers, and partners, we continue to provide compassionate assistance, advocacy, and education—ensuring no one faces HIV/AIDS alone.
